Sleep...

If there's anybody listening
may you hear my plea
for a little bit of rest tonight
escape from reality
because outside the snow is falling
and tomorrow work will come
and all I really want right now
is a heavy dose of numb
from the stresses of the daytime
and toss and turning of the night
I'm annoyed with all this winter
and the cold is not polite
so I'm simply asking
okay begging if I must
as I close my eyes this evening
fall asleep or bust!
